TSKI Earmarks 3 Million Pesos for Relief Operations

In the emergency meeting called to assess the impact of Typhoon Yolanda, all the members of the Board unanimously approved the allotment of Three Million Pesos (Php 3M) for relief assistance to the victims of Typhoon Yolanda. The Chairman of the Board, former TSKI’s Executive Director Mr. Angel L. De Leon Jr. said that the amount allotted will be for cash assistance for the staff whose houses were partially or totally damaged and relief assistance for the clients. He added further that more assistance will be underway. “Right now TSKI is trying to reach out to our partners in the Philippines and abroad to raise funds for relief operations because as per our assessment the damage to our staff and our clients were really significant.” As of November 18, 2013, TSKI’s Command Center reported that there were 555 staff affected. 327 staff houses were totally damaged while partially damaged were reported to be 204. The number of clients affected by the typhoon was 42,514. Out of this number, clients’ houses that were reported totally damaged was 37, 039 while partially damaged was 982.In related news, TSKI has partnered with Iloilo Doctors College, nurses from University of Iloilo and other nurses in the City of Iloilo together with Alliance of Philippine Partners for Enterprise Development (APPEND Party List) and the Department of Health (DOH) to conduct medical mission in the Municipality of San Dionisio, Iloilo on November 23, 2013. San DionIsio is one of the towns in Northern Iloilo to be hardly hit by the typhoon. The estimated beneficiaries of this mission will be 500 people from the municipality and TSKI hopes to reach out to more victims of Typhoon Yolanda. The DOH provided One Hundred Thousand Pesos (Php 100,000) for this activity.
