TSKI Top 3 Finalist for the 6th EMA

Taytay Sa Kauswagan, Incorporated has been selected as the top three finalist in the 6th European Microfinance Award with the current subject “Microfinace in post –disaster, post-conflict areas and fragile states” last September 24, 2015. This year’s objective is to highlight MFIs that operate in post-disaster/post-conflict areas and provide financial and non-financial services aimed to strengthen the resilience of the affected, vulnerable population.
A total of 47 applications from 28 countries participated for this year’s Award. The chosen winner will receive the Award of €100,000 granted by the Luxembourg Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs – Development Cooperation and Humanitarian Affairs and is jointly organized by the Ministry, the European Microfinance Platform (e-MFP) and the Inclusive Finance Network Luxembourg ( in cooperation with the European Investment Bank (EIB). Mr. Angelo B. Solarte will be joining the awarding ceremony on 19th November 2015 during the European Microfinance Week in Luxembourg.

It was remembered that countless of natural calamities which includes earthquake, siege, typhoons and storm surge had caused great infliction to the staff and clients of TSKI. However, these catastrophes have also strengthened the company’s resiliency in dealing with the aftermath. The organization look forward that joining this award will spread awareness to other microfinance operating in these challenging situations and helping vulnerable populations through financial services.

Previous subjects for the Award have included Innovation for Outreach in 2006; Socially Responsible Microfinance (2008); Value Chain Finance (2010); Microfinance for Food Security (2012); and Microfinance and the Environment (2014).
