"Building Bridges: A Maranao's Leadership in a Christian Organization"

“For me, religion is never a hindrance to fulfilling TSKI’s mission and vision. Instead, it is a force that unites people for a greater cause…”

– Jamaica S. Rauph, Branch Manager

As a proud Maranao serving a Christian Microfinance NGO, Jamaica S. Rauph, at just 28 years old, is making history as the first Maranao Branch Manager of Taytay sa Kauswagan (A Microfinance NGO), Inc. as she leads the TSKI Marawi Branch with confidence and pride, exemplifying resilience, fostering unity, not division.

She began her journey in Iligan City as a Field Coordinator in 2018 and then transferred to Marawi Branch in 2024 as the Team Leader. It was a significant step—not just geographically—but personally, as she ventured into a predominantly Muslim city to carry out a Christian organization’s mission.

Jamaica acknowledges the unwavering support of her co-staff and leaders, who have been instrumental in her growth for the past years, for their encouragement helped her bring out the best in herself— skills, excellence, and character. “As a Maranao, I feel called to serve my fellow Maranaos. There are moments when situations test my patience and personality, but humility and compassion are essential to fulfilling my purpose,” she explained.

Through TSKI, Jamaica has found not just a career but a calling. Her aspirations are deeply rooted in her desire to serve. Her years of service in the organization have shaped her, not just as a leader, but as a person who has built strong bonds with her team and has a strong relationship with clients. She then believes that relationships are the foundation of her work for it ensures trust and collaboration.

“I wish for more blessings for TSKI,” she says earnestly. “I hope the organization can expand its programs and services, fortify its financial literacy advocacy, especially in Marawi, to empower our clients to improve their lives. I believe we are all called to serve in unique ways. My prayer is to continue being of great service, and I am thankful to be part of an organization that allows me to live that mission every day.”

As a wife and a mother, Jamaica experienced a painful trial in 2024 yet her faith remains strong. She is grateful for her job which has allowed her to be a blessing to her family too. “Waiting for God’s plan in your life and surrendering everything to Him is crucial. It gives me peace and purpose,” she says with conviction.

Jamaica hopes for more opportunities to grow and develop, personally and professionally, so she can continue to help elevate the lives of her fellow Maranaos. She is living proof that the organization honors respect for one’s beliefs and culture.

As a dedicated advocate for her community, Jamaica’s leadership shines as a beacon of hope and inclusivity as she goes above and beyond to serve. Jamaica S. Rauph has demonstrated that faith, humility, patience, and determination are the cornerstones of effective service as she breaks barriers and helps build bridges to progress in Marawi City through the organization's mission and vision.
